What the ESPN FPI Says About WVU's Chances Against Texas Tech

Can West Virginia move to 3-1 on the season?

The win over Pitt was a massive one for West Virginia head coach Neal Brown and the program. They found a win to win despite starting quarterback Garrett Greene exiting the game on the second drive of the night with an ankle injury.

After taking a day to two to enjoy the win, the Mountaineers have to quickly flush it and get refocused for this week's Big 12 Conference opener against Texas Tech, a team they have failed to beat in Brown's tenure.

According to the ESPN FPI, West Virginia has just a 40.1% chance to win while Texas Tech has a 59.9% chance. For what it's worth, the computers at ESPN gave the Mountaineers only a 35.9% chance to win last week's game against Pitt and we all know how that turned out.

Texas Tech had a lot of hype coming into the season, but have severely underwhelmed to this point. They lost their season opener on the road at Wyoming in overtime and fell short to Oregon at home before picking up their first win of the season last Saturday against Tarleton State.

Kickoff for Saturday's game between West Virginia and Texas Tech is set for 3:30 p.m. EST.
