WVU's Top-Rated 2020 Recruit is Set to Return to College Football

The former Mountaineer has a new home.

Defensive back David Vincent-Okoli was the top-rated recruit in West Virginia's 2020 class.

The Gaithersburg, Maryland product visited WVU several times and eventually chose the Mountaineers over offers from Buffalo, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Connecticut, East Carolina, Kent State, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Temple, Toledo, and several others.

Unfortunately, things didn't pan out for him in Morgantown. He was one of the several players suspended for the 2020 season opener against Eastern Kentucky and did not end up seeing the field his entire freshman year.

The following March, Vincent-Okoli left the program after sexual assault allegations were reported against him that February. This past summer, Okoli was found not guilty of second-degree sexual assault in the Monongalia County Circuit Court.

After not playing anywhere for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Okoli is set to return to college football next fall as he signed with Garden City Community College on Thursday. GCCC is a junior college in Garden City, Kansas.
