Former WVU DB Joins Rich Rod's Staff at Jacksonville State

A new challenge for Brandon Napoleon.

One of the best up-and-coming coaches in college football is former West Virginia defensive back Brandon Napoleon. In 2022, he was named to FootballScoop's Minority Watch List/Rising Stars in coaching and this past year was mentioned in 247 Sports' 30 Under 30 list.

After one successful season at the University of Rhode Island, Napoleon is joining former WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez's staff at Jacksonville State.

Napoleon earned his first opportunity at Susquehanna University as the cornerback's coach. He spent the 2020 season as a graduate assistant at Midwestern State which is located in Wichita Falls, Texas. Prior to taking a GA job at Buffalo, Napoleon was set to be the defensive backs coach at Geneva College. In 2022, he made a stop at Sacred Heart which parlayed into his opportunity with Rhode Island.

He has already coached two All-American in Syeed Gibbs (Rhode Island) and Daniel Shelton (Susquehanna). Gibbs' spectacular 2023 season put him on the college football map and last month, he transferred to Georgia Tech.
