Frazier Nominated for the Wuerffel Trophy

Zach Frazier's commitment to community service

Thursday afternoon, West Virginia University offensive lineman Zach Frazier was named to the Wuerffell Trophy Watch List.

The Wuerffel Trophy honors college football players who serve others, celebrates their impact and inspires greater service in the world. As part of the National Football Federation’s Collegiate Awards, The Wuerffel Trophy was the first major award honoring the character of service to others.

Named after Hall of Fame quarterback Danny Wuerffel, who led the Florida Gators to their first National Championship in 1996, receiving the Heisman Trophy, Johnny Unitas and Campbell Awards, this award represents that which is good in the world of college sports. As a nationally recognized humanitarian, Wuerffel inspires leaders to use their influence to make a positive impact.

The Big 12 Media, Athlon Sports, Phil Steele, and Lindy featured Frazier as a 2023 Preseason All-Big 12 Conference First Team selection.

On the field, Frazier registered 51 knockdowns last season in 12 starts, including nine in the 33-10 win over Virginia Tech.
