WVU wins the toss and defers

1st QUARTER

Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa has 37 yards through the air on the opening drives of the game, moving the Terps deep into WVU territory. West Virginia limits Maryland to a 47-yard field goal. Maryland leads, 3-0.

West Virginia responds with a 7-play, 78-yard drive that resulted in a 20-yard touchdown catch from running back Leddie Brown out of the backfield. Mountaineers take their first lead, 7-3.

Rakim Jarrett fumbles the kickoff but the ball bounces out of bounds. Maryland keeps possession.

Tagovailoa hits receiver Dontay Demus for a 66-yard touchdown deep down the field to give the Terps the lead back, 10-7.

West Virginia goes three and out and allowed two sacks on the series.

The Terps get on the board again and extend their lead 17-7 following a screen touchdown pass.

Winston Wright with a huge kickoff return setting the Mountaineers up shop inside the Maryland five-yard line.

Leddie Brown with a 2-yard touchdown rush on the first play of the drive. Mountaineers back within three, 17-14.

Maryland leads 17-14 at the end of the 1st quarter.

2nd QUARTER

WVU defense forces a three and out, Maryland's first punt of the game.

Jarret Doege connects with Leddie Brown for a 19-yard completion, then finds Sean Ryan for 34 yards a couple of plays later. Brown caps off the drive with his third touchdown of the day with a 9-yard scamper to the outside. WVU regains the lead, 21-17.

Maryland crosses midfield but fails to move the chains on 4th down and 1. Cowan with a TFL.

Jarret Doege throws an interception on first play of the drive.

Maryland goes three and out but Winston Wright fumbles the punt and the Terps recover.

Dante Stills sacks Tagovailoa on 3rd down, forcing a long Maryland field goal. Petrino's 51-yard field goal attempt is NO GOOD.

WVU can't capitalize on good field position, forced to punt.

Tagovailoa with back-to-back big completions - a 35-yard and 18-yarder to Dontay Demus. Petrino hits a 21-yard field goal. Maryland back to within one, 21-20.

End of the first half, WVU leads 21-20.
