Seattle Seahawks, and former West Virginia University quarterback, Geno Smith registered his first touchdown pass of the year with a 10-yard toss and catch to DK Metcalf in the second quarter. However, Smith and the Seahawks were shoutout in the second half in a 27-13 season-opening loss to the division rival Los Angeles Rams.

On the Seahawk's opening possession of the season, Smith and the offense grabbed an early 3-0 advantage. Smith kept the drive alive on third and two after scrambling to the right to buy some time and finding DK Metcalf along the sideline for 28-yards.

The Seahawks grabbed a 10-7 lead after driving 75 yards on their second possession of the game. Smeith went 7-8 for 50 yards and capped it off with a 10-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf.

Smith was 11-14 for 82 yards following the first two drives of the game.

The offense settled for a field goal after starting midfield and the offense hit a wall in the Los Angeles Rams defense.

Smith was 13-18 for 103 yards and a touchdown as the Seahawks held a 13-7 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Rams defense continued to ramp up the pressure and the Seahawks could not find a rhythm. Geno went 3-8 for a mere nine yards in the second half as the Seahawks had just three yards of total offense and the Rams ran away with a 27-13 win.
