Georgia Southern DB Transfer Sets WVU Visit + Discusses Decision Timeline

A name for WVU fans to watch in the portal.

West Virginia has already made some additions to the secondary this offseason landing Beanie Bishop (Minnesota), Keyshawn Cobb (Buffalo), and Montre Miller (Kent State), but they're not done yet.

Saturday morning, they officially offered Georgia Southern defensive back, Anthony Wilson. During his three-year career, Wilson has tallied 241 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 20 pass breakups, three sacks, and two interceptions. WVU is recruiting him as a free safety but will likely end up rotating at nickel and strong safety.

Wilson was contacted by WVU shortly after entering the portal and now the Mountaineers join a long list of schools who hope to land his services.

Wilson has also I’ve talked to Central Florida, Lousiville, Tennessee, Purdue, Minnesota, Pitt, Cincinnati, Duke, SMU, Tulane, Baylor, Coastal Carolina, and some others. "My old d- coordinator Will Harris, who is currently with the LA Chargers has told me Lousiville, Auburn, UCLA, Cal, and Bowling Green have all called about me," Wilson told Mountaineers Now.

"It’s a blessing for sure," Wilson said of the WVU offer. "I’m thankful to God and to the WVU staff for the opportunity. I look forward to getting down there and building a relationship with the staff. I will be taking an official visit there from April 28-30.

Wilson will be taking a visit to Louisville next week and is in conversations with a few others about setting up a visit. He plans on making his decision around the time he graduates, which is May 9th.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
