Initial Thoughts on WVU's Win Over UCF
West Virginia snapped a two-game skid by defeating the UCF Knights 41-28 Saturday afternoon, pushing their record to 5-3 (3-2) on the season.
Greene is really rounding into form
West Virginia can win a lot of football games with Garrett Greene running the offense. He's so dynamic with his legs, as we witnessed once again today, and he's becoming more consistent in the passing game. He's improving with each start and does a great job of taking care of the football.
Tackling is a major issue
The last two weeks were enough to be concerned with the West Virginia defense coming into this game against UCF and all the speed they have. Unsurprisingly, the Mountaineers did not tackle well at all, taking bad angles, reaching, and an awful job of fitting the run. I get key injuries have impacted that side of the ball but they've got to find some answers sooner than later.
Jahiem White is going to be special
The only thing that was holding White back from being more involved in the offense was his performance in practice. The coaching staff wanted him to play better throughout the week to be able to give him more touches on Saturdays and this week, he took a major step. Every time White touches the ball, it feels like he's got a chance to make something big happen. His speed is something we haven't seen at the running back position at WVU since Noel Devine? With him becoming more of a factor down the stretch, it will make this offense even more dynamic.
