Minnesota DB Transfer Visits West Virginia

WVU is clearly looking to add to the secondary.

WVU defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley knows that he needs better production out of his secondary in 2023 or the defense will prevent this team from winning games. He admitted that last year he tried to patch up too many holes at once which only created more issues. Injuries, a lack of experience, and quite frankly a lack of depth all attributed to WVU's troubles in the back end.

This offseason, Lesley is looking to add another body or two through the transfer portal. Over the weekend, he hosted a pair of Big Ten transfers in Penn State's Marquis Wilson and Minnesota's Beanie Bishop.

Bishop began his career at Western Kentucky, where he spent four years before heading to Minnesota. During his time at WKU, Bishop tallied 74 tackles, eight pass breakups, 8.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. In his lone season at Minnesota, he recorded 29 tackles and one pass breakup.

Bishop will have one year of eligibility remaining and has also heard from Kent State, Louisville, Purdue, Charlotte, and Western Kentucky (again).
