New AP Top 25 Rankings Released; WVU Knocking On the Door

West Virginia inches closer to being ranked.

The West Virginia Mountaineers continue to garner the respect of voters in the AP Top 25 and are on the cusp of seeing a number next to their name for the first time since Neal Brown took over the program in 2019. Moments ago, a fresh batch of rankings were released with the Mountaineers receiving 26 votes.

This Thursday, WVU will take on former West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen and the Houston Cougars. With a win, WVU would move to 5-1 overall with a 3-0 record in Big 12 Conference play.
