New Year, New Number for WVU RB Jaylen Anderson

Bryce Ford-Wheaton became the first player in West Virginia football history to wear the number zero, donning the number in his each of his last three seasons.
Now, redshirt sophomore running back Jaylen Anderson will become the second offensive player to sport the zero, switching from No. 28. Kent State cornerback transfer Montre Miller will also wear zero.

Anderson saw limited action last season across six games, finishing the year with 275 yards and two scores on 35 carries. Much of that came in the final two weeks of the season, where Anderson rushed for 69 yards on seven carries against Kansas State and then 155 yards and two touchdowns in the season finale win in Stillwater over Oklahoma State.
Although Anderson is considered an in between the tackles type of back, he proved that he has the ability to hit the home run ball as well, ripping off runs of 54 and 57 yards in that game against Oklahoma State.
With Tony Mathis transferring to Houston, coupled with how Anderson finished the year, he will be in line for more carries. He will split the No. 2 reps with Justin Johnson Jr. behind CJ Donaldson.
