NFL OL Coaches Will Be 'Pounding the Table for Zach Frazier' in the 2024 Draft
Since Neal Brown has taken over as the head football coach at West Virginia, there hasn't been a single Mountaineer selected within the top four rounds of the NFL Draft. That streak could come to an end next spring when center Zach Frazier hears his name called.
Frazier has two years of eligibility remaining but with this fall being his fourth year starting, there's really not much else he needs to do to improve his draft stock. Everything that he has on tape right now is already impressive and another 12-13 games this season will be icing on the cake.
According to Reese's Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy, NFL offensive line coaches will be "pounding the table" for their team to select Frazier in next year's draft.
Frazier helped pave the way for a rushing attack that averaged 171.5 yards a game in 2022, earning an All-Big 12 Conference selection. He allowed just one sack on the year while registering 51 knockdowns and 38 great blocks. Arguably Frazier's best game of the season came in the road win over Virginia Tech, where he collected nine knockdowns to pave the way for the Mountaineer rushing attack which accumulated 218 yards on the night.
Georgia's Sedrick Van Pran is widely viewed as the top center prospect in the 2024 draft but Frazier isn't far behind. With another strong season, he could position himself to be the second or third player taken at the position and be a day two pick.
