On Tuesday morning, former WVU athletic director and NCAA executive Oliver Luck was named the commissioner and CEO of the XFL.
Luck served as the AD at West Virginia from 2010-2014 before becoming the vice president of regulatory affairs for the NCAA. And despite being located in Indianapolis, where his son Andrew Luck plays for the Colts, Oliver Luck will move to Connecticut to oversee league operations for the XFL.
In an email to ESPN, Luck cited his "experiences as an executive and a player" as to why he chose to tackle the most difficult task of his football career.
Without host cities or teams decided on, Luck and the XFL have a laundry list of chores ahead of them.
