West Virginia sophomore punter Oliver Straw has been named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List, an award given to the nation's top punter at the end of the season.

In his first year at WVU, Straw finished with 48 punts for 2,029 yards, averaging 42.3 yards per punt. 17 of those punts pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line, seven went 50+ yards, and his long for the season was 63 yards which came against Texas Tech.

The Ray Guy Award committee will trim the list to 10 semifinalists on November 10th. A national body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will then vote for the top three finalists to be announced on November 22nd. The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN in December 2023.
