The state of West Virginia typically doesn't produce a plethora of Division I talent, but over the last three to four years that has not been the case. High school football has improved in the mountain state and we are starting to see Power 5 offers rolling in, 2019 OL Darnell Wright has experienced it personally. Wright currently holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Louisville, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia among others.

Last night, I had the opportunity to speak with Darnell about his recruitment.

When asked what it meant for him to receive the WVU offer he replied, "It's an honor to receive an offer from your state school. West Virginia is a nice school, very close to home and they win. Coach Gibson and I have a good relationship." As of now Wright does not have any schools out in front, "I'm not ready to make any assumptions about who will be there at the end of my recruitment. I am just going to prepare for my season this year and stay focused on playing for Huntington."

Wright has great size that have college coaches drooling, standing in at 6'6" 281. Wright has already visited Morgantown and is possibly looking at making a return trip in the future.
