SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Exree Loe
Exree Loe (Johnstown, Pa.) joined the Mountaineer football team as a true freshman in 2017. He redshirted, but made a splash on scout team. When he got his chance in 2018, Loe's play came primarily from special teams.
2019, his R-So. season, Loe started three of his 12 games, giving depth at WLB and on special teams. He was in on 500 snaps and was named Special Teams Player of the Week following the James Madison game.
Loe has 173 tackles to his name, including 111 solo shots. Add on 11.5 TFLs for 22 yards, two sacks, five pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries, and Loe has left a mark on the WVU football program.
2021 (r-Jr.)
- Saw action in 10 games at Will linebacker, including seven starts before sustaining a season-ending injury at Kansas State
- Used on 495 total snaps, including 371 on defense and 124 on special teams
- Season-high 60 defensive plays at Maryland and 17 on special teams at Maryland and against Iowa State
- Sixth-leading tackler on the team with 38 stops, including 26 unassisted, one sack, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble and a quarterback hurry
- Had a season-best eight tackles at Kansas State, one of which was a tackle for loss
- Made three tackles against Oklahoma State
- Recorded four tackles against Iowa State, as well as a forced fumble at the goal line
- Had three tackles at Baylor
- Finished with five tackles against Texas Tech
- Tallied six tackles at Oklahoma, including a sack
- Made his 100th career tackle against LIU
- Totaled five tackles at Maryland, including a TFL

- Totaled five tackles and a pass breakup at Texas
- Registered a then-career-best nine tackles at Texas Tech, including eight solos
