Six Mountaineers Featured in PFF's Preseason All-Big 12 Team
For a team that's predicted to finish dead last in the Big 12, the West Virginia Mountaineers sure have a handful of players that are considered top-tier players in the league.
As a matter of fact, six of them are featured across Pro Football Focus' preseason All-Big 12 teams.
First Team
- LT Wyatt Milum, C Zach Frazier, RT Doug Nester, S Aubrey Burks
The strength of this West Virginia team lies up front with the offensive line. This offense will go as far as this line takes them and with these three lineman in particular, I like WVU's chances to surprise some people offensively.
Burks is one of the most underrated defensive backs in not only the Big 12, but all of college football. He's excellent in pass coverage, is a sure tackler, and can be a playmaker by creating turnovers.
Second Team
- RB CJ Donaldson
If it weren't for a season-ending injury, Donaldson would have likely rushed his way into the record books for most rushing yards by a freshman in program history. After spending a full year at the position, Donaldson is line to be one of the top rushers in the conference.
Third Team
- LB Lee Kpogba
Kpogba spent much of last season learning how to play within the scheme and playing off his teammates strengths and weaknesses. This year it'll be less thinking which will allow him to be more of a playmaker in both the run and pass game.
