Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU vs. North Carolina

Can the Mountaineers cover the spread?

Each week, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: West Virginia -6.5

1-star play on North Carolina (+6.5): Drake Maye and several other key players will be sitting out of the bowl game, but I do expect the Tar Heels to be excited for this one. Many young guys will get a major opportunity to prove themselves in the final game of the season, serving as an audition for 2024. The spread makes sense, but in what I expect to be a high-scoring game, I'll take the points.

Over/Under: 53.5

1-star play on the over: Even with a backup quarterback making his first-ever collegiate start, I expect this to be a back-and-forth type of affair. West Virginia doens't have much game tape on Conner Harrell and with his dual-threat ability, he could give the Mountaineer defense fits. West Virginia, on the other hand, ended the regular season hitting on all cylinders offensively. Expect fireworks Wednesday night in Charlotte.

My results:

ATS: 7-5 (58%)

O/U: 3-9 (25%)

Overall: 10-14 (42%)
