West Virginia Receiver is Entering the Transfer Portal

West Virginia University redshirt sophomore receiver intends to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal

Tuesday evening, West Virginia University receiver Davis Mallinger announced on social media his intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. 

"I would like to express my gratitude to my family and friends for their unwavering support, which has played a crucial role in my current achievements,"
 Mallinger said

I am truly thankful for coach Wright who has had a significant impact on shaping both my personal and athletic development. I would also like to extend my thanks to the West Virginia University football staff for the incredible opportunities they have provided me. 

The West Virginia fans have made my time as a Mountaineer unforgettable, and I am excited to announce that I will be entering the transfer portal. 

I look forward to the next chapter in my life, the best is yet to come!"

Mallinger spent his first two seasons at safety for the Mountaineers before moving to receiver in the offseason. He made four appearances in year one and tallied two solo tackles. Last season, the redshirt sophomore made 8 appearances, including four, accumulating 26 tackles, including 18 solo stops and two sacks. He made one appearance this season.
