What Dave Aranda Said About West Virginia

Baylor head football coach Dave Aranda discusses this week's matchup with the Mountaineers.

Initial thoughts on WVU/Neal Brown

"Very impressed with West Virginia. So much respect for Coach Brown and the times when we're together whether it's Big 12 this or that..coaches convention this or that, to be with him is something I always look forward to. I just have a lot of respect for him and his message and the way he gets it across I think is something I aspire to."

WVU's identity

"You can see the team on both sides of the ball for them...real strong identities. On offense, running the ball and on defense, 3-4 structure, single-high. You know what you're going to get the problem is you got to deal with it."

West Virginia's run game

"West Virginia is a big counter team. It's counter any type of way. With the guard, with the tackle. So GT, guard tackle or GY, guard and tight end. And then they've got backs that do a really good job of being patient cutting it back and hitting the A gap, bouncing outside, they'll crack your nickel or your star defender and they'll work outside of it. We're going to have to be really strong on the outside to force and funnel everything to the inside. I think that's our best shot. A lot of respect to West Virginia and their run game, they do a great job with it. It'll be a good test."
