Cain received an offer from WVU as a preferred walk-on back in mid-January after hitting the portal. West Virginia's staff had interest in him coming out of high school before ultimately signing with Navy last February.

"The coaches and fan base are the main reasons I'm going there," Cain told Mountaineers Now. "They make it feel like home. The talks with the coaching staff were really good and made me feel wanted and needed."

Cain chose West Virginia over other opportunities at Central Florida, Georgia Tech, New Mexico, and Pitt.

He will have all four years of eligibility remaining.
