WVU Adds to Defensive Staff

Neal Brown hires some help for the back end of the defense.

West Virginia is hiring Jevaughn Codlin as a defensive grad assistant and will work with the defensive backs, a source told Mountaineers Now.

Codlin played his college football at Kansas Wesleyan, an NAIA school, from 2016-20. For his career, he tallied 142 tackles and pulled down two interceptions in 45 games. He spent one year with the Spokane Shock of the Indoor Football League before transitioning into coaching, getting his start as a grad assistant at Emporia State.

He will work under co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach, ShaDon Brown, who is entering his third season with the program. Spring practice for the Mountaineers is scheduled to begin on March 21st with the annual Gold-Blue spring game set for April 22nd at 1 p.m. inside Milan Puskar Stadium.
