PORTAL ADDITIONS

WR EJ Horton (Marshall)

In twelve games with the Thundering Herd this past season, Horton hauled in 12 receptions for 186 yards and one touchdown. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

WR Noah Massey (Angelo State)

The 6'4", 230-pound receiver began his career at Bowling Green where he caught just ten passes in three seasons. The move down to Division II has paid off as he's put himself back on the radar with a couple of solid seasons. In two years at Angelo State, Massey reeled in 81 receptions for 1,083 yards and nine touchdowns. This past season, Massey led the Rams in receptions (52), receiving yards (684), and touchdowns (4). He has one year of eligibility remaining.

DE Tyin Bradley (Abilene Christian)

Last season as a sophomore, Bradley finished second on the team in tackles (58) and TFLs (11.5), while leading the club in sacks (4) and quarterback hurries (14) after recording nine tackles and a half of a sack as a freshman. He will have two years of eligibility remaining. 

DE Tomiwa Durojaiye (Kentucky)

West Virginia recruited Durojaiye hard out of high school but ultimately chose Kentucky over WVU, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina. He appeared in three games with the Wildcats this past season and took a redshirt. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

CB Beanie Bishop (Minnesota)

Bishop spent the bulk of his collegiate career at Western Kentucky. Following his freshman season, he tallied 73 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for a loss, eight pass breakups, and three interceptions in 28 games at WKU before transferring to Minnesota last year. In one season as a Golden Gopher, he recorded 29 tackles and one pass deflection.

DB Anthony Wilson (Georgia Southern)

During his three-year career, Wilson has tallied 241 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 20 pass breakups, three sacks, and two interceptions. WVU is bringing him in as a free safety but will likely end up rotating at nickel and strong safety. Wilson will have two years of eligibility remaining.

PORTAL TARGETS

WR Jaylen Ellis, Baylor ---> COLORADO

In three years at Baylor, Ellis recorded five receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown. He was redshirted as a freshman in 2019 and has seen minimal playing time since. He initially committed to WVU but flipped his commitment on May 6th to Colorado. 

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

WR Keon Coleman Michigan State ---> FLORIDA STATE

Schools showing interest: Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, and several others.

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

WR Jaquae Jackson (California PA)

This past year, Jackson logged 77 receptions for 1,178 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 15.3 yards per catch. At the end of the 2022 season, Jackson was named an All-American.

Schools showing interest: Cincinnati, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan State, Pitt, NC State, and Washington State.

Eligibility remaining: One year.

WR Montana Lemonious-Craig Colorado ---> ARIZONA

In parts of three seasons with the Buffs, Lemonious-Craig has caught 34 passes for 497 yards and five touchdowns. Although he doesn't have eye-popping numbers, schools have jumped all over him in the portal. 

Schools showing interest: Arkansas, Arizona, Auburn, BYU, California, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Liberty, Mississippi State, Oregon State, Penn State, Prairie View A&M, Purdue, San Diego State, South Florida, Southern Utah, Tennessee State, Tulane, UConn, and Washington State. 

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

TE Var'Keys Gumms, North Texas ---> ARKANSAS

Gumms saw some action in 2021 but was able to retain his redshirt. As a redshirt freshman in 2022, Gumms was second on the team in receptions (34) and touchdowns (5) and third in receiving yards (458).

Eligibility remaining: Three years.

OL Cam'ron Johnson Houston ---> MISSOURI

Johnson earned All-American Athletic Conference first-team honors this past season after allowing just one sack on the year at left guard. Although he's primarily played guard, he does have the ability to kick out to tackle. 

Schools showing interest: Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Maryland, Missouri, and South Carolina.

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

DL Keivie Rose Louisiana Tech ---> ARKANSAS

In three seasons with the Bulldogs, Rose accumulated 73 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks.

Schools showing interest: Arkansas, Colorado, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, TCU, and Virginia Tech.

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

DE Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. Florida ---> Virginia Tech

Following his redshirt season in 2020, Powell-Ryland Jr. logged 34 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, and one pass breakup over the next two seasons. 

Eligibility remaining: Two years. 

DL Isaac Ukwu James Madison ---> OLE MISS

Talk about going after experienced players - Ukwu has all of it. He spent six years at James Madison due to a couple of injuries and will be playing his seventh year this fall. He came to JMU in 2017...This past season, Ukwu recorded 40 tackles and 7.5 sacks.

Eligibility remaining: One year.

DL Anthony Campbell UL Monroe ---> MIAMI

In 12 games this past season, Campbell recorded 13 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup.

Schools showing interest: Auburn, Cal, Marshall, Miami, Mississippi State, North Texas, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, South Florida, TCU, and Texas Tech.

Eligibility remaining: One year.

DL Treven Ma'ae, Oregon ---> BAYLOR

Ma'ae (6'4", 250 lbs) appeared in 23 games over the past two seasons for the Ducks and recorded 33 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

DL Jeffrey M'ba, Auburn ---> PURDUE

West Virginia recruited M'ba hard out of high school but ultimately ended up attending junior college. He became one of the top JUCO d-lineman in the country and made the jump to Auburn. In one year with the Tigers, M'ba tallied just six tackles and one tackle for loss in nine games.

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

LB Konnor Near (Ferris State) ---> OKLAHOMA

Near is an All-American, two-time national champion that is looking to make the leap to the D-I level. This past season, Near registered 66 tackles, three sacks, and one fumble recovery

Schools showing interest: Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami (OH) Michigan State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Toledo, Utah State, Washington State.

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

LB Keith Brown, Oregon ---> LOUISVILLE

Brown (6'2", 220 lbs) appeared in 19 games over the last two years and registered 36 tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss.

Schools showing interest: Cincinnati, Duke, Louisville, UTSA, and Washington State.

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

LB Brendan Gant, Florida State ---> COLORADO

Gant is an elite special teams player and was widely viewed as one of the best in the ACC. He played well as a rotational player but isn't someone that will overtake a starting spot.

Schools showing interest: Central Florida, Colorado, South Florida, and Tennessee State.

Eligibility remaining: One year.

DB Antonio Carter Rhode Island ---> NOTRE DAME

In two years at Rhode Island, Carter totaled 105 tackles, 17 pass breakups, 5.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two sacks, and one interception. At this time, Carter tells Mountaineers Now that he does not have a visit scheduled to West Virginia but he and the coaching staff are in conversations about getting one set up. With Carter officially entering the portal on Sunday, he will continue to field interest before setting visits.

Schools showing interest: Baylor, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, Oregon State, SMU, Texas A&M, UNLV, Utah State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. 

Eligibility remaining: Two years.

DB Jaden Davis Oklahoma ---> MIAMI

The former four-star recruit should get some heavy interest in the portal. He's played in 37 games over the last four years registering 101 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and one interception.

Eligibility remaining: One year.

DB Shon Stephens (West Liberty)

Stephens began his career at Bakersfield College, a JUCO in California, before transferring to Missouri Southern State. After taking the 2020 season off to help his mother recover from a heart attack, he committed to Penn State as a walk-on in 2021. Unfortunately, he wasn't granted immediate eligibility, so he went down to West Liberty, a school roughly 11 miles north of Wheeling, WV, where he put together an incredible season to get back on the Power Five radar. He visited WVU earlier this month.

Schools showing interest: Indiana, Purdue, Tarleton, and Virginia Tech.

Eligibility remaining: One year.
