JUST IN: WVU LB Josiah Trotter Suffers Lower-Leg Injury

A big blow to the West Virginia defense.

West Virginia head coach Neal Brown told reporters Thursday afternoon that true freshman linebacker Josiah Trotter has suffered a lower leg injury that will require surgery, causing him to miss significant time, possibly the entire 2023 season.

Trotter was considered one of the top-rated players in West Virginia's 2023 recruiting class and was expected to make an impact on special teams and be worked in at linebacker.

Trotter chose West Virginia over other offers from Clemson, Maryland, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and several others.
