WATCH: WVU Releases Hudson Clement Walk-On Story

Wide receiver Hudson Clement tells the story of his rise from walk-on to scholarship starter.

Friday evening, the WVU football team unleashed a powerful video detailing the journey that wide receiver Hudson Clement has been on, dating back from his high school days in Martinsburg, to walking-on at WVU, exploding versus Duquesne and earning a scholarship.

In the video, Clement talks about being overlooked as a recruit, having to work his way from the bottom of the barrel in Morgantown, and putting together a strong offseason to help take this program to the next level.

"I feel like this year was great for me to sort of prove what I can do. Next year and going forward, I'm trying to take my game to the next level. I'm trying to be as best of a receiver as I can be for this team. I'm trying to win. I'm trying to go to Dallas and win a Big 12 championship and then go to the playoffs. I think we can do it. I think we got the pieces for it. I think it's all about using this offseason the correct way to go do what we want to do."

Clement finished the 2023 season with 22 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns. His 21.8 yards per catch ranked third nationally and second among all Power Five receivers.
