West Virginia will have six players at the 2019 NFL Combine, which is good for second-most in the Big 12 conference behind only Oklahoma.

This is the 6th time in school history WVU will have six or more players at the scouting combine. These years stretch from the mid-90s to present: 1996, 1999, 2005, 2011, 2016, and 2019. WVU’s 1999 class had a school record nine NFL Combine participants.

Will Grier, David Sills, Gary Jennings, David Long, Yodny Cajuste, and Trevon Wesco round out the field for the 2019 Mountaineer class. The tentative NFL Combine workout schedule has been released. We should expect to see Yodny Cajuste with the offensive linemen on Friday, March 1st. The largest group will workout on Saturday, March 2nd and will feature Will Grier, David Sills, Gary Jennings, and Trevon Wesco. Finally, we will see linebacker David Long workout on Sunday, March 3rd.

Could we see any record-breaking performances from the Mountaineers this year? Tavon Austin holds the WVU 40 yard dash record at 4.34, but Kevin White (4.35) and Adam “Pacman” Jones (4.38) also ran sub-4.4 times as well. Chris “Truck” Neild was West Virginia's bench press leader with 30 reps until Mark Glowinski broke the record in 2015 with 31 reps. Other top performances include Darius Reynaud’s 2008 broad jump, James Jett’s 1993 shuttle, Dee McCann’s 2006 vertical leap, and Mario Alford’s 2015 cone drill.
