Bryce Ford-Wheaton Drawing Comparisons to Calvin Johnson + DK Metcalf

What a big day for the former Mountaineer receiver.

Bryce Ford-Wheaton made himself a lot of money on Saturday by putting on an absolute show at the 2023 NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

In the 40-yard dash, he blew people away, running the event in 4.38 seconds - the fourth best among all participating wide receivers. We all know BFW can run, but I didn't expect a sub-4.4. I was thinking he would run around 4.5-4.55. To do what he did for his size, 6'4", 221 pounds, is impressive.

He then followed that up with a stunning 41" vertical jump, which tied him with SMU's Rashee Rice for the best vert by a receiver at the combine.

According to ESPN's Next Gen Stats, Ford-Wheaton and DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks are the only receivers that weigh 220+ to have that good of a 40-yard dash and vertical jump.

Ford-Wheaton's test results also happen to compare to Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson, according to his Relative Athletic Score. (RAS).
