WATCH: Former WVU OF Victor Scott II Robs Grand Slam in Minor League Game

Not today, says Victor!
In this story:

Last summer, the St. Louis Cardinals selected West Virginia centerfielder Victor Scott II in the fifth round (pick 157) of the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft.

Scott broke the WVU program record in stolen bases last season with a Big 12 Conference-high 38 stolen bases while also hitting a team-best 47 RBIs and setting career-highs in batting average (.278), home runs (6), slugging percentage (.454), and doubles (17).

Scott batted .254 for his Mountaineer career with 20 doubles, six triples, 11 home runs, and 62 stolen bases. He had two years of eligibility remaining but opted to sign with the Cards and it appears to have been the right decision.

He's making plays left and right both at the plate and in the field. Over the weekend, Scott made this incredible play robbing a grand slam, preventing the game from being blown open to 10-0.

On the season, Scott is hitting .333 with an OBP .405 of .838 and an OPS of .838. He's already knocked in seven runs and has swiped just as many bases for High-A affiliate, Peoria.
