Geno Smith Grabs Another Award

It's Geno's year.

Anytime you have a season like the one Geno Smith had in 2022, the awards and honors are going to come left and right. Especially when you take into account that prior to this season, Smith hadn't been a starter in the league since 2014 when he was with the New York Jets.

Last week, Geno was named Comeback Player of the Year + Most Improved Player by the Pro Football Writer's Association (PFWA). This week, Smith was recognized by the fans for his incredible season as he was named Comeback Player of the Year by NFL on FOX.

Smith led all quarterbacks with a 69.% completion percentage and set franchise records for most passing yards (4,282), completions (399), and pass attempts (572) in a season.

He is also one of three finalists for the AP Comeback Player of the Year Award, alongside Giants RB Saquon Barkley and 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey. The winner will be announced during the NFL Honors show on February 9th at 9 p.m. EST.
