Joe Mazzulla is One Win Away From Making NBA History

Game seven is going to be epic in Boston.

In the history of the NBA playoffs, there has never been a team to successfully come all the way back from a 3-0 series deficit. Prior to Boston's win in Game 6, only three times has a team rallied from 3-0 to tie up a series at 3-3.

Monday night, Joe Mazzulla and the Boston Celtics can make history by becoming the first team to complete the comeback.

"There is no guarantee. We just have to understand why we're still alive," Mazzulla said. "The mindset doesn't shift. Can't relax."

When asked what went through his mind when he saw Derrick White's putback shot go in for the win, Mazzulla said, "Nothing. Game 7."

Mazzulla has done a terrific job of getting his players to rally from behind and helping them navigate the ebbs and flows of a series. Some coaches could begin to press with their backs against the wall and it trickles down to the guys on the floor. Mazzulla has remained steady and unbothered by the adversity throughout the series. Sure, he's thrilled to get a Game 7 but he knows there's still work to be done before he can take a minute to celebrate.

Boston and Miami will play Game 7 Monday night at 8:30 p.m. EST. on TNT. The winner will advance to the NBA Finals to take on the Denver Nuggets.
