It's just not been a good season for the former Mountaineer.

Monday night, Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah had the shortest outing of his career, lasting just 0.1 innings. Things got out of hand quickly for the struggling righty, giving up six runs on seven hits and a walk.

As we mentioned earlier this week, Manoah hasn't had good command of any of his pitches for the last month or so and is leaving his once dominant slider hanging out over the heart of the plate. Finding the strike zone has been a troubling issue for the former Mountaineer all season long and was the case against the Astros last night, throwing just 22 of his 38 pitches in the zone.

"I think what we're concerned about is just really trying to do whatever we need to do to get him better," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said. "We're talking about a really good pitcher, for one and it's been a tough go for him. He understands that. There's no concern. I think the main focus is we just need to do whatever we need to do to get him better."

Manoah now sits at 1-7 on the season with an ERA up to 6.36. His next start is scheduled for Saturday against the Minnesota Twins.
