Michael Grove Deals vs O's, Picks Up Second Straight Win

Another quality outing for the WVU alum.

An RBI double from Aaron Hicks plated the only run against former Mountaineer and Los Angeles Dodgers' starting pitcher Michael Grove on Tuesday night.

Grove went five innings, striking out four batters, walking two, and surrendering five hits against the Baltimore Orioles en route to picking up his second straight win. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for the Wheeling native, who has really struggled since returning to the starting rotation in early June.

His ERA got up to as high as 8.28 but with three of his last five outings being much cleaner, that number has since dipped to 6.40. Grove has only walked 17 batters on the season in 52 innings of work but it's been the hits (63) that have ballooned his WHIP which currently sits at 1.54.

Grove will toe the rubber once again next Monday, July 24th, against the Toronto Blue Jays. First pitch is set for 10:10 p.m. EST.
