WVU football will be well represented in the new Alliance of American Football. The AAF is a professional football league debuting February 2019. There are six Mountaineers spread across three different teams. The Arizona Hotshots will have defensive backs Elijah Battle and KJ Dillon. The San Diego Fleet will feature linebacker Al-Rasheed Benton and defense back Marvin Gross. The Orlando Apollo will have offensive guard Marquis Lucas and 6 year NFL veteran linebacker Terrance Garvin. The season will kick off February 9th, which happens to be the Saturday after the Super Bowl.
