Several former Mountaineers win title with West Virginia Roughriders
Wheeling, WV - The West Virginia Roughriders capped off their inaugural season in Wheeling by claiming the 2019 AAL championship over the Carolina Energy in a 55-29 route.
Not only did the Roughriders win the title in their first season in the Mountain State, but did it with an unscathed record of 13-0.
Several former Mountaineers are scattered through the roster and a few of them had a major impact on last nights championship game. Quarterback Jarrett Brown accounted for a total of seven touchdowns combined through the air and on the ground. Running back Noel Devine also hauled in a touchdown reception for 25 yards and wide receiver Connor Arlia became one of Browns favorite targets and gave the Roughriders the lead at the half with his touchdown catch.
Other notable Mountaineers are defensive end Larry Ford, defensive back Ellis Lankster and defensive back Robert Sands.
