DL Drayden Pavey Includes WVU in Top 8, Talks Next Steps

Class of 2025 defensive line recruit trims list to eight.

Cincinnati, Ohio defensive lineman Drayden Pavey (6'3", 305 lbs) of Taft High School became the most recent addition to the WVU Football Recruiting Hot Board after including the Mountaineers in his top eight schools.

Monday morning, the class of 2025 prospect announced that he has trimmed down his interests to Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Miami (OH), Pitt, Purdue, Toledo, and West Virginia.

"The relationship I have with coach (Andrew) Jackson and the history behind WV is what stands out. I love that I can relay to him and he is as real as they come. The greeting always feels authentic never fake," Pavey told Mountaineers Now. "They have always had a good rich football history and I took that into consideration. I love the facility and I love how the school is up in the mountains."

Pavey has been on campus a few times and loves the "luxury" facilities the program has to offer. He is in the process of setting up an official visit to WVU sometime in June but already has his decision date set - July 8th - his birthday.

As a junior, Pavey recorded 46 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was named First Team All-Southwest Ohio and First Team All-Greater Miami Conference.
