DL Justin Bodford Recaps Trip to WVU + Where Things Stand in His Recruitment
West Virginia hosted several recruits for the spring game a couple of weeks back, including 2024 defensive lineman Justin Bodford from St. Thomas Aquinas HS in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
"The visit was amazing! I got to see the whole campus and meet with some of the players. The facilities were top-notch, and what stood out most was the energy of the coaching staff, players, and fans. I talked to Coach Marshall and [defensive grad assistant] Jaysen [Thompson]. They both said they see me fitting in on the team. They like that I'm a team player and have a great work ethic."
It may not have been the same atmosphere as a regular season game, but the support and passion from the fans stuck out to Bodford.
"The spring game was great, it was so cool to see the team in action. The crowd was really into it, and it made me even more excited about maybe the possibility of playing there. I'm definitely planning on coming back for another visit, and I'm also planning on checking out a few other schools in the area.Β
Currently, Bodford holds offers fromΒ Charlotte, Eastern Kentucky, Florida International, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Louisville, Maryland, Pitt, UConn, UMass, and Wake Forest. He tells Mountaineers Now that five of those schools are starting to separate themselves from the rest.
"As of right now Maryland, Pitt, West Virginia, Louisville, and ECU have been showing the most love so those are the ones standing out. I'm still unsure about when I'll make my decision. Right now, I'm just looking for a school that has a great football program, a great fan base, and a strong academic reputation."
