West Virginia's usage of a pass-catching tight end in recent years has spurred an uptick in recruiting for that position, meaning head coach Neal Brown is searching for elite playmakers to plug into his offense.

Jesuit (Fla.) 2020 tight end Jonathan Odom may be that guy for the Mountaineers.

"It was exciting," Odom said after receiving his offer from West Virginia. "I had a great talk with coach Trickett."

Despite having offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and many others, Odom is hopeful he can visit Morgantown in the near future.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Odom hopes to commit to a program sometime before his senior season, adding he is looking for a program where he fits in the offense and where he has a relationship with the coaching staff.

Odom also added he wants to pursue a degree in criminal justice, business or law and that distance from home does not matter.
