The Mountaineers have received a National Letter of Intent from Lucas Austin.

Power Four Offers: Northwestern, West Virginia.

Group of Five Offers: Air Force, Army, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois.

Verbal Commitment Date: 12/16/23.

Evaluation:

Plays with violent, physical hands which helps compensate for his thin frame. There's not a block he doesn't finish - seeing defenders drilled into the ground is a consistent theme on the tape. Played both tackle and guard on the left side of the line, but projects to be a left tackle with his length and athleticism. Still needs to fill out his frame in order to hold up at the next level. The strengths already exists, so once he's a more polished product he'll be a factor up front.
