A Look at the Badgers' Depth Chart: Week 4 Against Purdue
The Wisconsin Badgers Rebound: A Tale of Two Halves
The Wisconsin Badgers found their footing with a 35-14 triumph over the Georgia Southern Eagles last Saturday. The win came on the heels of a disappointing Week 2 loss, raising the team's overall record to 2-1 as they prepare for Big Ten play starting this Friday against the Purdue Boilermakers. ESPN's Matchup Predictor shows favor for the Badgers, citing a 63.1% likelihood of a Wisconsin victory.
Let's take a look at the Badgers' depth chart for Week 4, thanks to Jeff Potrykus.
One player we notice missing is linebacker Jake Renfro.
After Game 2, at his weekly media conference, Head Coach Luke Fickell was asked about the status of Renfro. He responded: "So Jake, I don't know. Hopefully, kind of like Isaiah, maybe he's a guy that ... we could get back this week or the following week."
We were hoping to see him make an appearance in Game 4, as he was still absent from the field in Game 3. While there is still a chance he could play we will likely have to wait longer until we see him on the field.
It's worth noting that safety Kamo’i Latu is again listed as a starter despite not starting last week. Instead, Preston Zachman started Game 3 with Latu not taking the field until later. It will be interesting to see who actually starts this friday.
Final Thoughts
Looking ahead, Wisconsin Badgers' fans can be cautiously optimistic. The win over Georgia Southern provided a much-needed morale boost, but numerous questions remain, especially concerning player availability and defensive rotations. As they step into conference play, every decision will be magnified, making Week 4 against Purdue a must-watch affair.
