The Wisconsin Badgers are set to redeem themselves this Saturday when they host the 2-0 Georgia Southern Eagles. After a disappointing 31-22 loss to Washington State, Head Coach Luke Fickell is facing the daunting task of preventing consecutive losses, a feat he's managed to avoid since his 2017 inaugural season at Cincinnati. Falling out of the Top 25 rankings, Wisconsin is on the edge, but based on Fickell's comments earlier in the week, he is optimistic about the team's journey and so are we!

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Georgia Southern Eagles

On the other side, Georgia Southern is on a high. After a resounding 49-35 victory against UAB, the Eagles are undefeated this season. They even have the sweet memory of beating a Big Ten team last year, toppling Nebraska 45-42.

A Battle of Inconsistencies

Wisconsin's running game will be a focal point in the matchup against Georgia Southern. The Badgers need to return to their season-opening form, where Chez Mellusi and Braelon Allen each rushed for over 140 yards, a far cry from the meager 90 yards on 29 carries against Washington State. They will be up against LB Marques Watson-Trent and a Georgia Southern defense that allows an average of 145 rushing yards per game.

Wisconsin has yet to force a turnover in its first two games and we are hoping to see that change this week. On the offensive side, quarterback Tanner Mordecai brings a ray of hope, having thrown a touchdown pass in nine consecutive games and 27 of his last 28.

Final Thoughts: No Room for Back-to-Back Losses

This is a must-win game for both teams but for different reasons. The Eagles are seeking to upset a Big Ten team for the second year in a row after their 45-42 victory over Nebraska last season. For Wisconsin, Game 3 is not just another match but a redemption arc in the making. We expect both teams to play hard and we are excited to see an intense match with the Badgers coming out on top!
