This coming Saturday, the Wisconsin Badgers (5-2 overall, 3-1 in the Big Ten), face a daunting task as they will square off against the undefeated and No. 3 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (7-0, 4-0) at Camp Randall. The opening points spread for the game has been released, and the Badgers are a huge home underdog.

Home Underdogs

The Badgers may be hosting the Buckeyes, but they are currently listed as a huge underdog. In fact, according to DraftKings, Ohio State has opened at a 14-point favorite over Wisconsin. The Badgers have struggled against the Buckeyes in recent years, losing nine consecutive matchups, the most recent being a decisive 52-21 defeat in 2022. Their last victory over Ohio State dates back to 2010 when the Badgers pulled off an impressive upset

Coming Home Following a Big Win

The Badgers come into this contest after a dramatic 25-21 comeback win against Illinois, surging back from a 21-7 deficit in the fourth quarter to claim victory and seize the top spot in the Big Ten West Division. In contrast, the Buckeyes are fresh off a hard-fought battle against Penn State, where they secured a 20-12 win in Columbus. The upcoming game at Camp Randall Stadium marks the first meeting in Madison since 2016.

Bottom Line: Controlling Their Own Destiny

Thanks to their come-from-behind win over Illinois, coupled with Iowa's road loss to Minnesota, the Badgers once again control their own destiny in the Big Ten West. With that being said, if the Badgers lose to the Buckeyes this coming Saturday, they will then be back in the same position of needing Iowa to lose at least once more before the season concludes.
