When Gracie Grzesk signed with the Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball team in November, they knew they were getting a special player.

Now, they know they’re getting a record-setter.

Grzesk, the 5-foot-11 forward from Green Bay, Wis., represented a coup for the Badgers from a recruiting standpoint. She had close to 20 Division I offers when she committed to Wisconsin as a junior. She was one of two key recruits the Badgers signed during the early period in November.

She’s playing her final season for Notre Dame Academy and on Monday the Badgers congratulated her on a career milestone.

Grzesk recently became Notre Dame Academy’s all-time leading scorer for men’s and women’s basketball.

She accomplished the milestone in a win over undefeated Alton, Ill., as she had 1,537 points to break the record.

Grzesk also plays club for the Wisconsin Purple Aces, who went 25-0 season en route to the 2023 USJN National Championship.

The other member of Wisconsin’s recruiting class is Alie Bisballe, a 6-foot-4 forward from Lake City High School in Lake City, Mich. She’s previously earned first-team all-conference, fourth-team all-state, Cadillac new all-area team, and BCAM best division III honors.

The Badgers get back to action against Northwestern on Wednesday in Madison. They are coming off a 67-61 win over Illinois on Sunday, which was their first in Big Ten action this season.

After hosting the Wildcats, the Badgers go on the road to face Michigan on Saturday. After that, Wisconsin travels to Iowa City to face Caitlin Clark and Iowa on Jan. 16 before taking a week off.
