There's something in the icy air at LaBahn Arena, and it's not just the sub-zero temperatures. The Wisconsin women's hockey team, currently holding a pristine 5-0 record, exhibited yet another display of sheer dominance in a 6-0 slaughter of Minnesota State on Thursday night.

Lighting up the Scoreboard: Eden and Simms

You could almost hear the collective groan from the Mavericks as Lacey Eden and Kirsten Simms repeatedly found the back of the net. Eden struck first, marking the scoreboard only 53 seconds into the game. Simms quickly followed suit, doubling the Badgers' lead.

 The Eden and Curl Show

Wisconsin's power play was another chapter in this tale of dominance. Eden and Britta Curl took advantage of the man advantage, elevating the scoreline to 4-0. It wasn't just about scoring; it was about how they scored—textbook execution that left the Mavericks reeling.

Laila Edwards and the Solo Act in the Second Period

If the Mavericks thought they could catch a break, Laila Edwards was there to dash those hopes. She netted the lone goal of the second period, extending the lead to a  6-0.

Stellar Defense: Jane Gervais' Wall

Jane Gervais, the Wisconsin goaltender, wasn't just a bystander in this show of offensive firepower. She stopped all 22 shots that came her way, recording her second shutout of the season. While the offense stole the headlines, Gervais' performance was a testament to Wisconsin's all-around capability.

Final Thoughts

The Wisconsin women's hockey team displayed a mix of tactical talent, athletic skill, and sheer willpower in their 6-0 victory over Minnesota State. They set the tone early, dominated on both ends of the ice, and left no question as to why they're top-ranked. While it's still early in the season, this kind of performance sends a message to the rest of the league: The Badgers are not just good; they're fearsome.
