Female cricket bowler takes eight wickets in men's league game
Kate Cross, the first woman to play in the England's Central Lancashire League, took eight of the 10 wickets for Heywood Cricket Club against Unsworth on Sunday.
A fast bowler for England's women's national team, Cross made her men's league debut last month. "I'm extremely proud to be the first girl to play in our league and I hope we will see many more," she said at the time, according to the BBC.
Cross, 23, leads Heywood with 14 wickets taken this season, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Cross's older brother Bobby also plays for Heywood and led the team with 75 runs on Sunday. Her father, David, is a former striker for London-based soccer club West Ham United and shared his pride on Twitter.
Heywood bowled Unsworth out for 121 and won by six wickets.
