Runners mark anniversary of Boston Marathon bombing with special route

About 100 runners took to the streets of Boston to mark the two-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing.

About 100 runners took to the streets of Boston to mark the two-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing on Wednesday.

Wednesday marked the first One Boston Day, a new city tradition created to remember and reflect on the victims of the bombings. According to TODAY News, the runners ran a 4.44 mile route that spelled out the word "Boston" when charted on GPS.

The family of 8-year-old Martin Richard, who was one of three killed in the blasts, was active in the day's events. His sister Jane, who lost her leg in the bombings, helped unveil a set of banners along with her family and walked down Boylston Street as part of a ceremony honoring victims and survivors.
