ALGS Pro League: Who Is Making the 2023 Playoffs Split 2 LAN?
- The Top 20 teams from each region will compete in the Regional Finals on May 7th.
- Based on region, the top teams after the regional finals and the winner of the finals will qualify for the London 2023 ALGS Split 2 Playoffs.
- All other teams will have a chance to qualify in a Last Chance Qualifier.
The Apex Legends Global Series is drawing to its final conclusion with only two game days left before the finals. April 29th and April 30th will finish the group stages for North America and the EMEA region, and the ALGS Pro League will culminate with the finals on May 7th to determine who gets to attend the London LAN for the ALGS 2023 Playoff Split 2. With only a couple days left, some teams have earned their spot in the Finals and others still have their work cut out for them.
How Do the Regional Finals Work?
Once the ALGS Pro League regular season matches have concluded, the top 20 teams in each region will play in a Regional Finals that uses the Match Point system. This means a team can only win by accruing 50 points and then winning a match.
The winners of the Regional Final will secure a spot in the London 2023 ALGS Playoffs Split 2. The rest of the teams in the Regional Final will have their point totals added to their Regular Season overall score and depending on the region qualify for the London LAN.
For North America the top 10 teams will qualify, for EMEA it’s the top 9, for South America the top 4, for APAC-S the top 4 and for APAC-N the top 8.
Who Will Make It to the ALGS Playoff Split 2?
There is still a bit of wiggle room for quite a few of the teams, but there are some who are in much better positions than others. If certain teams keep up their performances, win or lose in the regional finals, they'll be guaranteed to make it to the ALGS Playoffs Split 2.
North America
Group C has a major advantage over Group A and B as Group C will be playing both match days on April 29th and April 30th. Group A and B only have one match day left each. Taking first place on a match day earns a team 25 points towards their overall standings. Currently, tied at the top is Optic Gaming and XSET with 85 points. DarkZero Esports follows at 81 and FaZe Clan has 72. They’re all pretty safe, even if they completely tank in the final matches and the Regional Finals.
Those who need to be careful are sitting further down in places like 7th through 10th. Anyone in Group C who is below 10th place (With the exception of Rise) could theoretically squeak in if the teams in 7th through 10th score zero points, which is highly unlikely. But, fans of Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff and the Tripods technically have hope if they found some way to take first place on both days.
The big teams to watch out for who aren’t currently in the top 10, that probably should be, include TSM, LANimals, Luminosity Gaming and CLG. All of them have one more game day except for Luminosity, who has two. They all have a chance to move into the top 10, but for some of them their destiny isn’t entirely in their own hands. If other teams above them continue to score high, it could move the finish line beyond them.
Of course they all have a chance in the Last Chance Qualifier and anything could happen there. Check out the current overall standings for the North American Region here.
EMEA
In the EMEA region, the top echelon is even further removed from the bottom. Teams like Alliance, Fire Beavers, Vexed Gaming, KCP and Ascend are all fine, especially since they’ll continue to perform and soar even further ahead.
The current threshold for getting into the top 9 is Element 6 at 58 points. Start A Fight and FUT Esports who are tied at 55 points in 10th place. Both of these teams are in Group A, which means they have only one game day to catch up and Element 6 is in Group C, they’ll have two more chances to rise up the ladder.
Sadly, for any team under 50 points, it’s going to take a miracle to get into that top 9 position. You can check out the overall standings for EMEA here.
APAC-North
The top spots of APAC-North have strongly secured their spots with NORTHEPTION at 100 points, Fnatic at 90 and Ganbare Outousan with 87. FC Destroy holds the bottom spot at 8th place with 64 points.
No one from Group C is in the top 8, which means they have a chance to push themselves through if they have a great performance and some of the lower teams have poor ones. The only one who may have a chance would be Crazy Raccoons, but they would need two top tier placements just to catch up, let alone to keep up.
Check out the APAC-North overall standings here.
APAC-South
Only the top four teams in APAC-South will make it to the LAN event, along with whoever wins the regional finals. Unlike the other regions, APAC-South has completed their Regular Season matches with Moist Esports at first, ONIC Esports at second, Team BLVKHVND at third and DreamFire at fourth.
With only the regional final left to go, DreamFire is the only one who could potentially be knocked down and replaced. They have 85 points and there are several teams that are less than 20 points away from them. Four of them are less than 10.

South America
Like APAC-South, South America has finished their Regular Season matches and have only the regional final to finish. The top four squads are Team F/A Players, Team ATHXHVY, Team Gosu and Team LeaveNoWitnesses.
Though Team Fellas, NorCal Esports and Team Singularity aren’t trailing too far behind and could pull ahead depending on their performances and placements at the regional finals.
