Pathfinder - Memoir Noir

This silly and friendly robot has always been a fan favorite in Apex Legends. Regardless of if he’s dominating in the games or being booted back to the lobby, he’s always trying to put a smile on someone's face. Maybe that’s the reason the Memoir Noir looks so good on Pathfinder. The idea of the hard-boiled noir detective doesn’t quite fit with his personality, so it makes for a very interesting juxtaposition of what we normally expect out of him and the mysterious and cool threads he dons with it. Not to mention the fedora and the little chrome mustache really bring the whole thing together.

How to obtain: Originally from a bundle in January 2021 as part of the Fight Night Event. It’s returned two times to the store since then for 1800 Apex Coins.

Wraith - Rift Stalker

Our resident edgelord phase walker has some of the best skins in the game. It’s extremely difficult to pick just one. From the Hellcat skins to the Airship Assassin or the Voidwalker skin, they are all phenomenal. Wraith is one of few Apex Legends that have a stellar Mythic level prestige skin, but all of them have something in common. Most of Wraith’s skin harkens back to her sci-fi roots in some way. The Rift Stalker skin does something completely different and imagines the character in a Diablo-like world that still fits with her theme perfectly. The red and black color scheme is still dark and intimidating. She’d fit in perfectly with any Dungeons & Dragons group as the edgy rogue with a past shrouded in mystery.

How to obtain: This skin was originally released as part of the Sanguine Bundle back in May of 2022 and reappeared again at the end of the year in December. It cost 2500 Apex Coins and came with an R-99 Skin and a gun charm.

Octane - Sea Legs

Octane is another of the most popular characters in Apex Legends and as such, he seems to have a lot of really great skins. But his Sea Legs skin stands out the most as it looks to do something different with the character. The first thing is that it really shows off just how toned those abs are without the fraying and ripped shirt of his default skin. The goggles and facemask, which are staples to Octane’s character design, stand out much more on this skin thanks to their simple execution. Plus, the skin is inspired by Luffy from the popular anime One Piece. What isn’t to love about it?

How to obtain: Originally from the Gaiden Event in July of 2022, this skin game out during Season 13 (Saviors). It cost 1800 Apex Coins or 2400 Crafting Material. You’ll have to wait to see if it ever comes back in a bundle or a store sale.

Bangalore - Radical Action

Bangalore has always been a fan-favorite Legend, but she hasn’t always gotten the respect she deserves. She has seen an uptick in pick rates in the 2023 ALGS Pro League. But one thing that has always bothered fans a bit about her design is the tactical combat skirt. The Radical Action skin reimagines Bangalore’s entire aesthetic from the professional soldier to badass mercenary out of a 80s action flick. From the red dyed hair, sunglasses and, bullets across the vest, everything about this skin screams, “Don’t mess with me.”

How to obtain: This skin was released during Season 8 (Mayhem) alongside Fuse. It was a reward on the Battle Pass for reaching level 25 and hasn’t come back since. But past Battle Pass skins and recolors have been known to pop up in store bundles from time to time.

Bloodhound - Majestic Tracker

The technological tracker Bloodhound was one of the original launch characters and still remains a popular pick in Apex Legends. They have a ton of cool skins and one of the few with a Mythic level Prestige skin. Despite that, the coolest one among them is the Majestic Tracker skin. Bloodhound comes from a line of proud trackers shrouded in a bit of mystery. The dark colors of this skin with the golden trim and red sash emphasize the nobility in their hunting practices and close relationship to nature. The helmet and horns are likened to the beasts of Apex, namely the Prowlers featured on the Storm Point map.

How to obtain: This skin was released in March 2023 as part of the Regal Wrath Sale. It will likely come back around sometime in the future. It cost 2500 Apex Coins.

Lifeline - Judge Jury Executioner

As the first Support class in the game, Lifeline normally has an image to uphold. A lot of her skins lean into the idea of a combat medic or nature rescue survivalist. But the Judge Jury Executioner skin looks at her as she really is, a formidable and scary competitor in the Apex Legends games. The gold and black armor with the white face mask is scary, it’s cool and one of the most badass skins in the game. It also makes a huge departure from her normal hair two bun hairstyle in favor of the black dreads.

How to obtain: Originally released in Season 2’s Iron Crown Event in 2019, it’s seen a return to the store in several bundles over the past few years for 1800 Apex Coins.

Horizon - Galactic Guardian

Horizon has a lot of really great skins in her collection and all of them have a very sci-fi theme to them. She’s had skins modeled after Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, Pacific Rim’s Gypsy Danger and much more. But her best skin is the one that pulls from her sci-fi roots and keeps in mind her goal in life -- to save the world. With that said, it’s obviously her Galactic Guardian skin inspired by Voltron that is her best.

How to obtain: Introduced in Season 9’s Collection Event, Genesis in 2021 this skin cost 1800 Apex Coins. It’s seen three separate returns in the store since then.

Valkyrie - Birthright

Valkyrie’s Birthright skin is an interesting one for fans of Titanfall. Valkyrie’s father was a character that was in the Titanfall 2 game that players had to defeat. Having her in the game was one of the first major and direct references to the Titanfall series. As a result, her birthright skin is special in that it takes direct reference from Viper’s suit in that series. Viper was an Apex Predator, which is the highest rank you can achieve in Apex Legends. It’s also one of the few Valkyrie skins that covers her face with a helmet.

How to obtain: The Birthright skin was part of Valkyrie’s launch bundle but has been featured in the store in two other sales. Originally 3000 Coins, the bundles have appeared at several price points.

Loba - Magenta Militant

The best skins in Apex Legends are those that present the character in a new way, but still have aspects that reach back to the spirit of the character. The Arms Dealer skin for Loba was a departure from her usual glam and flair, but still made sense as you could easily see the translocating thief selling her ill-gotten wares to the highest bidder. But Magenta Militant tossed out the black and replaced it with a stylish magenta that speaks more to Loba’s usual sense of style.

How to obtain: A recolor of the Arms Dealer skin, this first appeared as part of a bundle during the Valentine’s Day Sale in February of 2023 for 2500 Apex Coins.

Ash - Biotechnic

Despite being in a game with a simulacrum and synthetic nightmare, Ash is actually the scariest character in Apex Legends. She was an antagonist the player had to defeat in the Titanfall series and she brings all of her rage and malice to Apex Legends as well. Every single one of her Legendary skins is perfect. But the one that stands above the rest is Biotechnic as it leans into the same themes that make other perfect hunters scary like the Predator or Alien. The face mask with six glowing red eyes, the sleek design with neon green and dark colors. It’s the perfect look for the Incisive Instigator Assassin.

How to obtain: This skin was first available in the Season 16 (Revelry) Collection Event for the games 4 Year Anniversary for 1800 Apex Coins or 2400 Crafting Material.
