Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Map Rankings
The new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 game brought us interesting maps, with five new maps that were added throughout the new seasons. Everyone has a favorite map, but which ones offer the best games based on the type of play, strategy, and aesthetics? Here are the map rankings on CoD MW2.
1. Breenbergh Hotel
As one of the maps used in all game modes for the Call of Duty League, it's hard not to like what Hotel offers. Any gun, whether an AR, SMG, or sniper, can put up big kill numbers on this map. On SnD and Control, one location is tough to hold, and the other is tough to break, making the strategy of the round very important. Rotations on Hardpoint are vital to the team's success, with each hill being further from the next. Hotel is easily the best map on MW2.
2. Mercado Las Almas
The colors and setting on Mercado make the map what it is. Everything is very appealing to the eye, and the gameplay is very enjoyable. Depending on what type of player you are, you can snipe down the middle of the map, run and gun in close-range gunfights, or hold angles with your AR down tunnel. Even those campers hiding in the top of cantina-there's something for everyone.
3. Embassy
While it might not be for everyone, Embassy forces you to be at your best in mid to long-range gunfights. It's one giant square with three buildings placed in the middle of it. Getting to the top of these buildings with an AR or sniper to look over your SMGs is the key to victory. But you're going to need those slaying SMG players if you want to find time on hills for the majority of Hardpoint rounds.
4. El Asilo
El Asilo has something for every type of player. It has two open fields on either side of the map for sharpshooting ARs and snipers while giving SMGs close-range fights inside the building. For quick rounds of SnD, lockdown the A site. Or, if you want to be more strategic, try to control the B site. The important piece to playing Control on El Asilo will be to get the high ground at the radio tower or at the top of party. Either way, the strategic point of this map makes each round interesting.
5. Al Bagra Fortress
While Fortress was heavily criticized for its Control rounds, it's a great place to visit when playing Hardpoint or SnD. The strategy is to make sure two of your teammates are running with trophies, holding down angles, and rotating early to bottom art or statue. The A bomb site on SnD is a popular one, but if you're able to rotate to the B site, getting on top circle and controlling maps is crucial. No matter what way you play, any type of player can drop big kill numbers.

How to Watch the Call of Duty League
Viewers can watch the 2023 Call of Duty League through the Call of Duty Twitch and YouTube channels. If you are watching on Twitch, be sure to link your Activision and Twitch accounts to receive Twitch Drops during eligible events. The CDL will take place every Friday-Sunday over the course of four weeks.
