In the spring, Evo 2024 will be held at a new venue in Tokyo. From April 27-29, 2024, Evo will head to the Ariake GYM-EX, a new location for the gaming tournament. This is the same venue that hosted the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Then in the summer, Evo 2024 is moving back to July. Evo 2024 will be on July 26-28, 2024 in Las Vegas once again. This is a favorite spot for Evo since the city allows them to host tournaments late into the night, something that isn’t often allowed in other locations. The adult-oriented location is also favored for the clubs and gambling between watching tournaments.

Evo is then heading somewhere brand new to invite even more fighting game communities to take part in the biggest esports event of the year. The exact location was not revealed at Evo but the FGC was told to “stay tuned.”

On top of that, Evo Day is now an official holiday in Nevada. Evo Day is August 6 in 2023. The date may change next year seeing as Evo will be in July instead.

Evo has been going on for 25 years, bringing all of the FGC together for big tournaments featuring the biggest names in each fighting game title. While Super Smash Bros. has not been present the past few years, Evo has continued to grow thanks to the growing hype for games like Street Fighter, Tekken, and Guilty Gear.
