On January 6, 2024, Bushiroad announced the Hunter x Hunter fighting game with a teaser trailer. While short, the teaser did offer a little more insight into what we can expect when the game drops.

Who Is in Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact?

In the trailer, we saw the most popular characters from Hunter x Hunter, a popular manga series turned into one of the biggest anime in the world. These are the characters in the trailer:

  • Gon
  • Killua
  • Leorio
  • Kurapika
  • Hisoka
  • Netero

Expect more popular Hunter x Hunter characters to be revealed as time goes on.

What is the Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact Gameplay?

There is unfortunately not a lot of actual gameplay in the trailer but we did get a glimpse of something quite telling. Gon and Killua go to have a duel but Killua says the 1v1 is “boring” and suggests a team battle.

Then, at the start of a battle, two teams of three characters stand eye-to-eye in an intense showdown. This points to the game being a team battle format with three characters to a team.

This isn’t all too shocking since the game is made by the same developers behind Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which features teams of three as well. It’s still unclear, however, how the characters will work together. They will most likely come out one at a time but have some interactive elements.
